The difference between many things comes down to chemistry. The answer to that particular question can be found in the upper right image.

BAHAHAHAHA

Yes.

For the record, I was asked this once in a serious tone.

I just said no.

The concept of what one defines as a serious question appears to be changing. I think your approach is probably more rational than mine. I have found that when someone does ask something stupid, turning to look at their ear in profile and saying "blow me, I can see daylight" has negative consequences.

My apologies sir. Upon reflection, I realised I had responded to the stupid question with a flippant answer without questioning my assumptions.

I therefore ventured out into the Costa Rican wilderness to challenge my assumptions in an endeavour to verify the origins of bananas. Whilst I can confirm they appear to grow on plants (picture 1), I asked a local resident (picture 2) whether the plant root base was actually a pineapple. He did not appear to speak English although I got the impression he might have been answering the wrong question as it sounded like “keep nostr weird”

Love this. You're great!
