1500 BTC?? I would set up a multi sig vault using a collaborative custody with 2 hardware wallets / signing devices.
So you wouldn’t have 10x HWW geographically located around the world with 150BTC in each HWW?
Multisig - if I wanted to spend I’d need you and me to be online at the same time right?
10 HWWs is 10 points of failure in my eyes. Not the worst plan though!
With a 2 of 3 multisig you can spend on your own BUT if you fuck up and lose access to one of your signing devices aka hardware wallets a trusted third party could sign a transaction with you.
I genuinely need to YT how this whole mulsig situation actually works - I’m not 100% sure..
Do you think it’s good to swop HWW every 1-2 years just for good security?
Collaborative 2 of 3 multi sig is elite AF in my books. I find it to be the perfect balance of security trade offs for many people. Definitely worth digging into :)
If your private key never touches the internet / your hardware wallet has never been plugged into the USB port of an internet connected mobile phone or computer and your seed-phrase backups haven’t been compromised I don’t see any reason to upgrade hardware devices every 1-2 years.
Unless: you are having issues with your current hardware wallet, the hardware wallet company has had security issues or data breaches or the device you want to get is a significant improvement on what you have.
I would personally have a multi sig set up. Higher than 2/3. Or multiple multi sigs. I would create a full architecture of a network of how to access it. Make it future proof and viable for inheritance of my next of kin.
Also, MacOS is supposedly more secure… look into QR based hardware wallets like the Coldcard.

I need to know more - I’ve always used Trezor for helping people with their BTC and self custody.
What’s your take on Trezor?
My only concern is the USB connection. However they are the creators of BIP39 and SLIP39 standards lol, so I’m a pleb for doubting them. However, I hear Trezor is making a hardware that’s not connected via USB so mos likely a Bluetooth connected version…
I don’t like how small it is btw. Coldcard Q is huge I love the QWETY so easy to use passphrases and stuff … lol I got a video in all this feel free to watch 🤣 I got too many videos lol
Oh and I hear the coin join still tracks coins… I’d use something like Jam or Whirlpool instead to do coin control.

My theory is that simply is easier for the normie.. because as you know.. you fuck it up you done! 😢
Do you know which HWW the likes of Coinbase and Binance use?
I think they use Trezor rofl hahahahahhahahahahahhahahahah WHO AM I TO QUESTION TREZOR 😂😂😂
Lol. Yeah I agree. Sometimes simplicity is the best option. However I think when you have knowledge you should take security to a high level as this isn’t a bank where they can promise you fake fiat money as insurance for using their product - in self custody if you lose your keys or send to a wrong address it’s game over.
Main aspects I think is educating the public - once they got decent knowledge they can experiment themselves and learn from mistakes… I’ve lost thousands on mistakes initially… could of had me some more Bitcoin when I think about it 😂
Everyone loses stuff by being silly… I got scammed way back for a fair amount of BTC🤣🤣🤣
Do you know how to read code and verify the open sourceness of the code 👆🏻
No - so the only part I’m concerned about is when the USB is connected to the computer, what stops any further information from transmitting or leaking? I’ve searched for the answer can’t find any. If someone could clarify that I’d have no issues at all with Trezor. They’re an OG company. My lack of knowledge of the code is the issue (a me problem) but until that’s clarified I can’t put my word to it besides mentioning my concern. It’s upto others to find the answer that I raise the concern about to show me… I’m really hoping since you asked this you know how to read code and can educate me 😂
I can read a book and road signs.. that’s about all… nostr:nprofile1qqspnzgrfett3asxcuj0gksje6z2zxzpvgd27uvz58m9vsuqh8zzw6cc6268u - please help here? 🙏🤙🏻
I can only read some code but I don’t use it daily for years so am very rusty. But yeah would love it if someone could clarify!!
