Remember the battles of Bakhmut, Mariupol or Aleppo? Look out for IDF heavy losses in a ground operation. Israellian families can't afford to loose sons & daughters.

Yes, probably that would be the case.

I'm afraid this time Israel sees it as an existential threat to the statehood.

They already set two objectives: destroy Hamas fighting capabilities and stop Hamas from ruling Gaza.

Can't do that without invading and taking control of it.

Their main problem, as you probably imply, is that there's another Gaza, underground. They cannot take it without leveling it to its foundations.

Yes, probably big losses both sides...

Indeed some are just mobilized kids with guns and tech; poor families that cannot escape, fanatisms on both sides, never endings desires for revenge, repeating over and over again. It’s a mess… one that should teach us all to value peace more, and on time deescalation of differences because once things reach this kind of level it’s just pure human evil unleashed…

Two tribes want exactly the same land. Both all of it. Can't go well...

Revenge is a bitch. Europe realized it only after the Apocalypse of WWII.
