No, he did not. He was writing a how-to manual.

I'm convinced that I'm correct.

Still worth reading and understanding, but it makes even more sense if you look at it like a how-to manual, especially given the author's really effing shady background.

He was one form of a socialist, don’t remember what kind he claimed, and from what I’ve gathered in my research of him he wrote 1984 on the evils of some other form of socialism that he didn’t like. So, a hypocrite and blind in thinking his “good” socialism would lead to utopia, but I do think he meant 1984 as a manual

Correction, I meant “he meant it as a warning”

No, he was not. If you dig into today he palled around with and his personal history, he was one of those imposing all that BS on the rest of the world.

I agreed that he was a socialist and hypocrite, but from what I’d seen he wrote the book as propaganda against some other form of socialism that he didn’t like. That’s just the vibe I got anyway, I could well have missed some juicy details as the last time I really dug in was probably over 10 years ago.

Secondary point, kill your heroes. Ain’t nary a man from history that ain’t got something that makes you scratch your head, including the ones who started the USA lol pick up on the truths in their thoughts and writings and lift up the ideals, not the humans.

I agree with your second point.
