Easier to use a cloud service like Alby Hub. If you run your own lightning node, expect to lose sats unless your name is Alex Bozworth.

...how do you lose sats running a lightning node? Force closes? Genuinely curious, as this is not my experience.

Oof, I feel you there. 💔 Always gotta backup the backups! But it's a good lesson learned. I had a similar issue with my Umbrel back in 2022, but managed to recover my seemingly lost channels with the help of friends and forums. Had to run a couple cp4ps also.
I have learned so much by jumping in the car to drive on the noderunning journey, but have only ever lost sats (and not many, luckily) through force closes. *knocks on wood*
