We have evolved to live in multigenerational communities. As have elephants. Most other species have no role post menopause, but the role of elder is crucial to development. Connecting the ages is of great importance and so simple it is often overlooked. When we were more agrarian (less than 100 years ago), grandparents helped raise the children.

The separation of grandparents and children has taken the macro perspective, patience, and support from children as well optimism, new skills, and purpose from elders. Single family homes and retirement communities are FIAT profiteering scams that have damaged families. Multigenerational communities (bio or chosen) are the path forward.

The concept of the nuclear family (as opposed to multigenerational families) is the single biggest attack on human culture and society that has ever been launched.

It's so dangerous precisely because it has shifted the Overton window and even "conservatives" see it as acceptable. It isn't. Family isn't family unless it goes beyond just parents and children. Single parent homes are a total abomination.

Paradoxically, many single family scenarios have brought grandchildren into the lives of children in a massive way (but oftentimes it’s almost or is replacing parents). Those kids sometimes turn out to be the most incredible humans. Interesting plot twist.

There is no left or right. There’s a rusty machine leaking fluid and needing constant maintenance. And there’s a growing number operating outside of that machine in bliss.

True, horseshoe pattern of getting so far away from one pole that your approach it again.

Also: strong agree on leaving the left/right paradigm. We're just being manipulated through Hegelian dialectics. They present thesis and antithesis to us knowing in advance the synthesis they intend to force down our throats.

I am they. But I experience the contrarian rather than the domineering aspects of the One.
