Why not? If the volume of visitations is sufficiently high, even a super low crash rate would result in a few downed craft. Grusch also alleged some craft appeared to be abandoned

If you have intergalactic travel technology, it means you are nearly traveling at the speed of light. The concept of a crash will be irrelevant to them.

Time slow down at that speed and at some point completely stops.
