I couldn’t justify the cost of a proper greenhouse, and couldn’t bring myself to waste money on a flimsy one, but I was tired of using my inadequate carport for plant starts. So with a little creativity and about $10, found pallets, and scrap wood, I built a quick test greenhouse in about an hour. It’s primary purpose will be for soil blocks since they cannot get rained on. If this “works”, I’ll spend a little more time on a proper one that my wife can enjoy instead of being repulsed by one of my creations.

The qualifications I needed for a greenhouse can be summarized by the following:

-keep rain off seedlings

-provide consistent light

-be open air so the temperature stays down (too hot most of the year for an enclosed greenhouse)

Let me know what you think and what I can improve!

Good job mate. Using stuff in hand is always rewarding. Maybe inside you can make a table so everything is at waist height. Save your back.

The next iteration definitely will. This one isn’t quite tall enough. 5’ at the peak.
