No

Why?

This won't change anything.

Interesting. I wonder how this affects GrapheneOS.

Yeah does this mean Graphene won't be able to release security patches as quickly?

Hopefully nostr:nprofile1qqsvzkj6vkvxu745zdx7uw4c2f2d5hzafvzw0z60zmyzsdce9564rpgpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumt0d5hsqs8r5u can shed some light if this negativity affects Graphene development in some way.

I'd assume so. They follow AOSP, so delaying the source availability until the actual software release should put graphene at a disadvantage, timing wise.

If is what it looks like, I'll run the fork.

Can Apple people chose that path?

Android people can't either. Google decides if you get to run third party ROMs on their devices

I’ve never trusted android. I legitimately trust iOS more. Google is not to be trusted. Google is far worse than Apple.

We need an alternative to both

Linux phone

We need to work on that lol

There have been so many failed attempts. I’d love to see if, but it’s a long way off.

Running Android 9, perfectly fine. I'll be using android pre 2025 from now on, or any side chains like graphene.

From Android to Graphene is a non-trivial move, no?

I'm using CalyxOS right now. It's an easy move everyone should do.

So you aren’t running Android to start with, therefore unaffected.

GrapheneOS and co rely on the Android open source project for their codebase. So assuming here that the closed development done will end up in these disteoa, hence my comment about forked versions which are independently developed.

You trying to find loopholes in my statements?

Use GrapheneOs

That's based on AOSP lol

OK then Linux phone

Android is Linux rekt

Linux is not android, though.
