TIL mullvad uses shadowsocks: same tech that chinese users use to get around vpn blocking/DPI on the great firewall of china.
It enables this when it detects that a firewall is blocking wireguard. Damn thats cool. I am liking this company.

Can't China just block common VPN endpoints? Then it wouldn't matter whether or not traffic is obfuscated.
I’m not sure how they use it, i was just told by chinese users that they can’t use tor and use shadowsocks and one other thing that I forget
I suppose to use Tor they need a bridge. It might be hard for an average chinese to figure out how to find one.
Last I heard, the canonical way was to send an email to a tor project email address. Not ideal...
Maybe some kind of steganography

When LN payment?
Are you callig them a dummy? "is_hidden=dummyyes"
its always good to have a few moneros in your pocket, just in case 😉
I can pay with Bitcoin onchain. But would like to pay with Lightning in the future. I don't need Monero.
Now. Are you familiar with vpn.sovereign.engineering ?
Mullvad is the absolute best!
Malwarebytes uses it for their VPN too, only reason I considered paying for their premium subscription
And they accept Bitcoin 🫡 🫡
I wonder if this will work on ISPs that prevent wireguard and UDP from working
If you integrate monero "zaps" into Damus, i will name my first hatchling after you.
And they accept bitcoin. And they don’t require KYC. They are awesome.
mulvad is great but everyone needs to remember that they are a central entity and will be forced to comply w anything any government has the power to make them do, they seem better than most vpn companies but are still a vpn company nonetheless.
