Without getting to technical, NIP51, in the first table and first row, there's kind 10000 (mute lists) it contains pubkeys, tags, words, threads.
If any client does anything weird with that list, for example remove everything but pubkeys when you update your list, muted words etc might be gone. All over Nostr.

Ok, the contacts and mute words are in the same list and if a clients removes the mute words, for example because it wipes and rebuilds your list without considering and readding the mute words, they are gone.
I understood that but I don't get how to fix it. I probably won't figure it out. I have 30 million other things to do besides sit on my phone and try to understand why something doesn't just fucking work like everything else does. Don't worry about me though. No one else does.
Did you mute/unmute someone recently in a client other than Amethyst? You don't have to follow up of course, but that's literally the only way to see where it happened
Even if it was just one term muted? That doesn't explain why I still see certain terms in one feed of a different app than the one I have it muted in.
