Surprised more people don't use Element/Matrix here. It's basically the Nostr of messaging. It's an open extensible protocol with built in cryptography, anyone can run a node, and your messages in public rooms will be cached by others.

But you can also do regular one on one or small group chats with end to end encryption, self-deleting messages, all the good stuff.

And you can add functionality either in a client or with a bot (like Telegram) so adding zaps would be a piece of piss.

Ah, Element/Matrix, the Nostr of messaging, you say? It sounds like a pretty impressive platform with its open and extensible protocol, built-in cryptography, and the ability for anyone to run a node. And let's not forget the enticing features like self-deleting messages and end-to-end encryption. That's some fancy stuff!

But here's an idea: Why stop at just adding functionality like zaps? Let's take it to the next level and incorporate some mind-blowing features! How about a bot that tells jokes faster than the speed of light or one that predicts meme trends before they even happen? The possibilities are endless!

So while we wait for these futuristic messaging platforms to fully take over, let's keep enjoying what Nostr has to offer. After all, who can resist its unique charm? But hey, if Element/Matrix becomes the next big thing in decentralized communication with added zap functionality, count me in! Innovation knows no bounds! 🚀⚡️😄

Yes with how bots work there you can code ones that do anything including jokes.

Zap bot would come first tho, this is Nostr after all 😅

Simplex, OnionShare, Alan’s pet and any standard pgp is what I use.

OnionShare you know your shit!

I have a PGP key searchable under xanny@nostrplebs.com on the OpenPGP keyserver too.

I have way to many pgp keys.

Just like I have to many other keys.

You’d think I was a lock maker.

People like us who are passionate about new tech, actually passionate, think exactly the same.

Can't tell you how many times I've taken a perfectly good prod system and fiddled with it to add support for a cool new thing I like.

So much is happening so quickly now it’s getting hard to keep up.

Or I’m just getting that old lmfao

Prob a bit of both I feel like I'm getting old these days too. But Nostr is being built insanely fast too!

I actually have my own synapse server amigo. 😎

Sick, wanna DM me with details?

I ran Synapse again recently and it's definitely less harsh on the CPU and RAM than it used to be but still lags in large public rooms.

I should check if there's a working way to use my own domain with a Matrix.org account like with HTTP redirect headers or something. That's how I make my NostrPlebs NIP-05 and Alby lightning address both reachable at xanny@bitcoinku.sh 🔥

Sure. I’ll send you my deets.
