With Alby, what level of event signing did you choose? I'm trying to rule out that an event needed to be signed to connect to the NSP and you did or didn't sign it.

When you get prompted for the first 25742 event, choose to always allow it / don't ask for it again.
I'll let you know if I have better luck tomorrow
