I agree with you. Congress won't do it. They would rather see the United States fall as a nation state than do the right thing. And that's what the history books will record.

They don’t see it that way. And in their mind, there is no other way to see it than what they’ve been doing.

But I don’t see a lot of other countries balancing their budget or moving to a un-debasable currency. So I think it’ll just be a slow burn.

Maybe there will be a revolution, but that sounds messy.

You say you want a revolution

Well, you know

We all wanna change the world

You tell me that it's evolution

Well, you know

We all wanna change the world

But when you talk about destruction

Don't you know that you can count me out?

Don't you know it's gonna be alright?

Alright

Alright

You say you got a real solution

Well, you know

We'd all love to see the plan

You ask me for a contribution

Well, you know

We're all doin' what we can

But if you want money for people with minds that hate

All I can tell you is, brother, you have to wait

Don't you know it's gonna be alright?

Alright

Alright

I know that Sweden is following the correct path, with a law in place requiring a 1% budget surplus every year and a goal of paying off the national debt eventually. It seems to be working. No other country is following that path that I can determine, but hopefully we'll see some eventually.
