This is totally unacceptable. We are being subjected to algorithms we do not understand, making decisions we can only guess, enforcing shadow bans we are unaware of, and imposing censorship without transparency. This cannot be the future.

From a consumer perspective, I follow people, yet they never appear in my timeline again. I can follow or unfollow anyone I want, but the algorithm still chooses what I end up seeing.

I guess it feels a bit like voting in our so called democracies πŸ˜‰

I believe everyone should be able to build and fine tune their own algorithm to decide what they see, how often they see it, and from whom. We need tools that empower users to meet their complex needs and preferences. Will this ever be possible on Nostr?

this is possible today on nostr

you can fine tune what kind of topics and especially how much of whom you want to see in your timeline?

not so much with topics (Pubky has a better design for that), but nostr is perfect for creating a feed curated by your web of trust. I have an experimental algorithm for that running at https://jumble.thecaptain.dev

Unfortunately i dont know what to do with that? Is it non developer friendly?

if you have a PC where can leave the browser tab open, it should work for you. it's not mobile friendly

Choice is easy. It's the Psychopaths' platforms or Protocols for the People.
