The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve is the wrong way to go. Bitcoin is not gold. We want capital to be moving in the economy, not locked in wallets. What the US Federal Government should be doing with Bitcoin is investing in mining hash. The Bitcoin generated from those hash contracts should be used to supplement the general fund so we can replace taxes and pay off the debt. If the Treasury does want to hold Bitcoin, they should be using it to provide liquidity in the Lightning Network, by operating a Lightning Network routing node that generates a yield and boost adoption.
