You are talking about linguistics, your thread means nothing. Below is a google definition of cryptocurrency, which does support your argument. I can agree with this on the exception that shitcoins stop calling themselves cryptocurrencies. If you want to fix the terminology go talk to the shitcoin community.

Let me put it this way, buzz words kill definitions. Crypto has been over run by shitcoins, this is why Bitcoin is not crypto. Yes it was the original crypto but it has shredded that language because of the filth that has moved in. Don't complain to me, go complain to the bitcoin marketing team.

It was before the definition of “crypto” changed to mean scams. My old keychain from around 2015 is a relic of a bygone era.
