I've learned over the years that buying fancy washers and dryers and dishwashers never ends well. I buy the low end old fashion, sometimes called contractor models. Word.

I have a similar theory about washing machines. Get the model that runs day and night in a laundromat. Make sure it has dials and switches and LEDs; not a 100-button touchpanel. SpeedQueen sells a model like this, and it even includes a manual override to disable govt water usage standards, so you can actually get a clean load.

Can confirm. Speedqueen consumer models are rock solid. They are not as well built as the laundromat models, however.
