CLEAR has a very nice story about how their CEO is sort of a self-made woman who rescued CLEAR’s predecessor from bankruptcy about ten years ago. I’m quite skeptical, but if there’s more to the story than what you can find easily online, I haven’t been able to find it. LinkedIn uses CLEAR now to give you a “verified” badge, which I expect will soon (if not already) become a required thing to have on one’s profile in order for recruiters to query you as a potential candidate. Digital ID is a terrible idea, but Laser is right: it’s coming our way whether we like it or not.
