Ich hoffe nur, dass die beiden ihre Kinder und Enkelkinder zuerst dorthin schicken, damit neue killer drones getestet werden können.

Sort of. My problem with this is rather how fast rules and definitions can change when the politicians need this. Sure, just declare the whole country Ukraine no man‘s land and send troops there. Strictly, if these troops get eliminated, no NATO territory has been attacked. Very clean and elegant.

However, What I don't nderstand is how France can invite itself in a conflict against Russia without it being an explicit declaration of war, with all the consequences that would ensue, and I'm sure that the majority of French understands this.
I think their weird idea is to send troops to certain areas of Ukraine that haven’t been occupied yet but also far away enough from the frontline. And by doing so the French hope to stop the Russians from advancing further (because „NaTo TrOoPs DoNt CoMe ClOsEr“). The problem is that the definition of Article 5 would also change. Kind of, let’s use the territory called Ukraine as a block-free battlefield for a while to test all possible weapons and maneuvering tactics.
