That’s right, we run a bitcoin node for LDK to fetch blockchain data. But you can also run fully without dependencies if you connect it to your own bitcoin core (by default Start9 and Umbrel run like this)
Alby Hub uses LDK on the back end. It’s a lightweight way to run Lightning without all the dependencies.
