I love how writing helps structure my thoughts. And i love simplifying a complex idea or knowledge. But sometimes, the brain gets jaded and it needs to be flushed out.
One way i go about it is to watch a series - one short episode, one hour of work, and repeat. I did that yesterday and worked for 24 hours. I used to do that for exams too esp the non engineering papers. I also take 2 walk breaks, one in the morning with my dog, and another in the evening. Sometimes a completely diff environment helps - drive to the beach, to the cafe. But sometimes, you just need to shut down for a day or two.
I had a young fashion designer who was working on a startup of mine and on her first day she asked if she can watch movies while working. Surprised the hell out of my but i said sure, just have your ear pods on. That was her way of staying focused and quite a high performer too.
What do you do to stay focused? How do you quickly flush out a heavily loaded brain and stay refreshed?
