So, I replaced my soft top with a hard top. when I picked up my jeep, the sun visors were broken and the dealer said they couldn't be repaired and needed to be replaced. These visors cost around $400 for the pair since there is power in them for lighted mirrors and garage door opener. After a quick internet search and a $10 purchase on Amazon, I bought retention clips and repaired both visors in less than 20 minutes on my own. Good service is a thing of the past.

you can see the first pic where the visor is just dangling. The metal retention clips were easily added and fixed the problem even better than it was before the guys putting on my roof mangled things.

I don’t understand how they broke it in the first place

My guess is when they were putting on the top, the guys must have pushed down on the visors and caused the retention clips inside the housing to break. The issue is that they didnt even tell me. They tried to hide the fact that they were broken by pushing them back up in the housing. Luckily, I am anal about things and went through everything before leaving the dealer. But, they told me that they didnt know if they were broken before or after (right, they were NOT broken). BTW, not the only thing they did wrong. The wiper on the back window of the new top didnt work, they left zip ties un-trimmed on wiring harnesses, they didnt re-attach my antenna, and more.

Well what the actual fuck damn that’s messed up

yep. needless to say, I will never go back there. Either I fill do it myself or go to a local mechanic (not the dealer).
