One of my favorite books is Neil Stephenson's Snowcrash.
It's a bit dated, (90s Internet nerd sci-fi fantasy), but one of the most notable details in the story is that the world has become so anarchist that the US federal govt is pretty much irrelevant. They still exist, but nobody really gives a shit.
Itβs a great book. Theyβre reading it on Cornychat on Wednesday evenings and Iβm sad Iβve been missing it.
