I did not know what Valedictorian means and I had to look it up... is how much I know about the US university system while hiring people in the US. Your degree from a fancy US university doesn't impress me. Your skills and what person you are is what matters.
In fact, it can be a repellent instead of a recommendation. Content of character is the best resumé.
