Got in line for automated passport control. Guy in front of me puts his passport in the scanner. It rejects his passport. He tries a few more times and then the whole machine crashes.

Then he moves left to the next machine and repeats the process until it crashes. Guess what her does next?

This dumb motherfucker ends up crashing all 4 passport control machines and even though they rebooted, the passport software didn't come back online.

Don't blame the player, play the game.

hate is a strong word

It is, just the version I have heard a lot

... maybe it was intentionally πŸ’€

I had my old passport for 10 years and did A LOT of travelling with it, it only worked ONCE in all that time in one of those machinesπŸ™„πŸ˜‚. My new one seems to be much better with a 100% success rate, so far.

Bank run at the surveillance machine

Maybe you are about to witness a heist

Blame the system. Not the poor dude suffering it.

Where others saw a problem, he saw potential!

I wonder how far from an exploit that was if it managed to brick the machines beyond re-boots. Was it the data in his passport or the data the machine got back from some server? Which part could an attacker actually control?

Saw a guy put a dollar in the soda machine, pushed button, no soda. So, puts another dollar in, pushes button, no soda. Did it once more before giving up, being mad, and 3 dollars poorer.

And yet you didn’t do anything after the second one was crashed? Soft.

I saw the machine rebooting and figured it would come back online.

Plus imagine, "Step aside, I'm __________" irl

Legend. Now you get to pass border control via a human.

I'd do the same thing πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Must have been machines secured by CrowdStrike.

A hero we all deserve.
