Nostr has the potential to be the Netflix to the existing cloud providers Blockbuster.

A decentralized cloud powered by all of the stranded compute of its users, paid for in bitcoin.

I'm imaging a Fortnite where all the skins weapons and levels can be designed by anyone. A Netflix where ALL movies and shows are available but the payment is just zapsplits to all the collaborators.

Like a homestead has to produce a surplus to account for drought, pestilence, etc. all of us have to have a surplus of compute to account for our spikey usage. Nostr can be the bridge that allows #permaculture practices to enter the information space, and become #devops for the world

I think your idea is brilliant and very forward-looking: please write an Nostr essay

I wish I could but I am struggling to put words to it besides this. Maybe later this year when lambing season ends

I hope so. That would be awesome. Isn’t there a huge issue of the relays using Amazon servers though?

No clue, but idk why if we have several providers who let you pay in SATs like dimi does

And with crowdfunding beforehands. All money streams.

Don't even need crowdfunding before heland with v4v

Let's just hope it doesn't become manipulated like gayflix.

I will love it then. Value what I want🤓

nostr is just a pub/sub and post office protocol rolled into one, it's not designed for big chunks of data like game skins complete with textures and animations and dynamic reaction programs (like regaining balance, collapsing in a heap, etc)

though having said that, the #alexandria project is building index structures so you can compose large documents out of small pieces, this would enable the kind of data exchange and remixing you talk about

The data itself won't live on nostr, it'd live on blossom probably and someone will figure out paywalling data with zaps if they already haven't. Probably v4v would be the ideal setup tho
