Frank Frazetta’s “Berserker” cover artwork for Conan The Conqueror paperback [Lancer,1967]

“All of my physicality is in my work. That’s why I’m so proud of my physical side, because I did a lot of stuff that I know many guys couldn’t do. What I did wasn’t so much my bodily construction as much as my mind. I know it’s my mind...I always had the ability to sort of psych myself out when I had to. I did it with my art to. I’d do some of those paintings overnight - you think I didn’t “wind up the machine” and let it go? It’s an amazing thing. Those Conan paintings even, most of them were done in a night. I had to work that fast to be spontaneous. If I had sat and pondered them for weeks at a time, they wouldn’t have looked like they do.” - Frank Frazetta [The Comics Journal Number 174. 1995]

This original artwork is in the Kirk Hammett collection. Frazetta sold this to Hammett during a visit to his museum in the early 2000s. Hammett tours his original art collection in his exhibit called, “It’s Alive!”
