Apparently there is an anarchist book fair in LA next weekend. What is odd is that I am an actively involved anarchist near LA and have heard nothing about this until today, just by chance.

I say this not because I feel left out, but because it seems like there is a fundamental flaw in how we communicate with one another if we're not able to reach comrades within a small geographical area with local news, events, and action info.

One proposal is that only using Instagram to organize is to do it very, very wrong. Why rely on their infrastructure to build our movements?

Using Instagram to organise is stupid but it makes sense.

Before Elon Musk bought Twitter, twitter is how Americans organised protests etc.

Now the USA government controls tiktok as well.

Somehow meta has become the less censored option.

But they would be much better off organising on nostr or even xiǎohóngshū (through private message groups)

physical fliers, letter drops etc. is always going to be the best way to get the word out locally
