Been looking at this as well. Was speaking with nostr:npub137c5pd8gmhhe0njtsgwjgunc5xjr2vmzvglkgqs5sjeh972gqqxqjak37w today and he suggested ubiquity. Also nostr:npub15u3cqhx6vuj3rywg0ph5mfv009lxja6cyvqn2jagaydukq6zmjwqex05rq got a ubiquity as well I believe. Sorry don’t know model. nostr:npub1wtuh24gpuxjyvnmjwlvxzg8k0elhasagfmmgz0x8vp4ltcy8ples54e7js uses them as well I think.

Thanks hadn't heard of ubiquity, been on Asus for a while

I’ve had a ubiquity old model very basic for over 6 yrs. No issue ever. I will most likely get another. I also have a lnksys in another location it’s been ok but wouldn’t do it again.

Look up Ubiquiti Ultimate Dream Router on YouTube. I don’t recall all the specs but I’ve been running it for about a 18 months now and I’m happy with it. 🤙🏻

nostr:npub147wy3decmxy3vs9u4nse80ha7nkcydt7zdge8lc9gk8ddglh4t6qudjwdr dream machine or stream router ??? I have been looking at both. Seems an odd mix. The more expensive dream machine is only Wi-Fi 5 and has no Poe ports. The router is 6 with Poe but a slower processor. Seems wierd.

Yeah, the UDR is a refresh of the UDM from what I remember. I was more interested in the Wifi6 and future proofing than the decrease in processor. I’m running 3 vlans, with 12 or so connections on a constant basis i and have no problems. Will say that 3 or 4 connections are IoT things like door locks, tv’s, and a wifi camera. But I’ve not had any performance issues. The built in switch also has two PoE ports which are great too. I’d definitely recommend if you can find it. Also found some YouTube videos to learn how to setup security and vlans that were very helpful. 🤙🏻

Yer I’ve come to the conclusion I think I will get the router

Nah, I don't need other people tapping into my subconscious.

Ive even seen videos of people talking about taking their UDR on vacation with them to use in AirBnB’s rather than using someone’s else’s devices.
