Nice to meet everyone! I am a professional coordinator that enjoys photography / film, graphic design, and software. I am here because I don’t currently have any social media account, and ! really wanted to dive in to creating an independent social network that has the ability avoid censorship, and end to end encryption. So any advice on getting start would be amazing, because I am going to have to hopefully train other how to do so. #introductions

Welcome to Nostr! Follow the #plebchain to secure your signal. Follow for follow to get things going. Lived most of my previous life in film and TV, keep making!
What did you do in film in the previous life? And how did you transfer those skills out of film? I am curious because I have been in the industry for the last couple of years and I would like to do something for myself.
I mainly worked in post-production, edit at first, later grading and online.
My ticket out of the crazy film and tv hours was film education. But I ended up working for soulless assholes, so burned all the bridges and left. But the whole ride was fun. 6 countries, even more cities.
I am trying to get out of what I am doing at the moment (trading). It’s soulless.
That’s amazing! I am on the art side coordinating, just looking to start getting back into computers for a side business.
What do you mean by “computers”
Where are you based?
GA
You guys had a massive boom in the film industry, still holding? Why are you trying to get out? The hours?
I am not really trying to get out of the industry, I am trying to have another source of income for when things like the upcoming Writer’s renegotiations happens I still have work. I would like that income to from something I enjoy doing and like reading about.
I am trying to build myself a portfolio of income sources. Nobody can own my time 100% but I still get to mine some fiat and stay in contact with people. 40% of my time for my own activities. 60% for hire.
It may sound rather vague, and cliche, but for me it really is all about solving a problem. One of the reasons I like Art Coordinating some much is that I am no expert in any of the fields, rather someone who has dabbled in them all at one time or another. So I get to take a vast amount of information and translate it where it goes. Computers come in with automations, file management, creating art for set, IT supporting: printer, computers, email. I just like solving problems with Tech.
Welcome. Jump in, the water is warm 🫡
