Fair enough and coldcard might be the best product. Nevertheless, ledger CEO seems to understand markets better. You need to pick the people up where they are.
Everyone is different. Circumstances might change, so does the importance of the tradeoffs that the possible solution might bring with it.
For me personally self custody is always the better option over custodial solutions. The first step is more important then the optimization for privacy, security and so on. Don’t you think?
