From furrow and plow, to asphalt and crowd,
A different world, a new challenge.
The farmer, accustomed to the pure and fresh air,
Is immersed in the city, somewhat bewildered, fresh.
The skyscrapers rise, giants of steel,
And the deafening noise, almost drives him to despair.
The cars that come and go, a constant hum,
Remind him of his tractor, slow and determined.
The hurried people, with serene faces,
Ignore the beauty of the green fields.
He longs for silence, the song of a bird,
And the smell of wet earth, after the downpour.
But he finds something new in this urban chaos,
Neon lights, a more human world.
The diversity of cultures, a melting pot of races,
Makes him understand that the world has many maces.
And although he misses his field, his beloved home,
He feels like one more citizen, although a little lost.
He carries in his heart the land and the sea,
And dreams of returning, when the sun begins to shine.
