Today is kind of a sad day. We have been blessed to have inherited a very old avocado tree. We have enjoyed it for years, but these last 2 years it has appeared to be slowly struggling.
We have consulted arborists and followed their recommendations and spent a lot of time and money to try to save this tree.
Turns out, it is infested with termites. Initially, it appeared to be just one of the limbs which we chopped, but the pest people discovered that it is essentially completely infested and therefore has to be removed from our property.
It will be missed, but will leave behind space for more opportunities of growth.

Go for a picnic while theyre there so you don't have to see/hear it happening. Plant a seed today.
