I’ve personally not found a single topic more likely to kill an orange pill boner among newcomers than discussing the process of setting up self-custodial zaps. 🤣
It’s such a dumb hill to die on. They’re possible already which means anyone who really really wants to do that can. For the other 8 billion people in the world, it’s a non-starter. Lol
Meh, if it’s a passion project I got no problem with folks going for it but don’t be disappointed when nobody uses it (because most people are retarded like me).
Self custodial zaps are easy. Self custodial zaps that actually show up in Nostr clients and can be used to filter by most zapped and things of that nature (through, say, NWC) is where we get to things like the whiteboard you've depicted. A simple lightning address will work for actually sending and receiving.
But yea... NWC is a mess. Impressive it works at all.
A self custodial lightning address is not the same as zaps, and that’s my point.
I kind of get the hate, but it's a one line docker command. I was jacked at how easy it was. I guess there is the whole learning how to setup docker though....
