I'm not quite sure, but I think it has to do with changes to the Amethyst client code that prevent images posted via Amethyst from showing up on any/most other clients. Sure, competition and innovation are good, but if too many newcomers get frustrated with this problem and then badmouth nostr to their friends this early in the game, it could make it a lot harder to get broader adoption. That's my limited understanding, anyway.
