Braiins is moving to FPPS...

A step in the wrong direction IMO.

One of the reasons I was on braiins in the first place was because they weren't FPPS and I wasn't just lending them hashrate since I was getting paid per block. FPPS is just a derivitives system of forward hash contracts.

Why do we keep trying to recreat shitty fiat flavored systems?!

I saw that post. Any good alternatives?

Sigh, not really. There's ocean but that's it. Everyone else uses some sort of forward hash rate system.

Score was the old braiins system and I felt that was most fair. Ocean has developed real-time hashrate so I think theyre the purest play around aside from solo mining.

But ocean remains to be seen if they're going to do all the good things they say they will do, or if they're just lapping at being a true pleb pool.

Gotcha. Keeping my eyes on Ocean too. I think a lower payout threshold is a big factor in being a true pleb pool. Until then, might have to stick with Braiins despite FPPS.

Yeah I have to stick it out with braiins for a little while. I need to at least hit the payout threshold. For most pleb miners that basically means dedicating all your hashrate to one pool for around a year...

I'm splitting my hashrate between braiins and ocean. Seems like ocean has a lot of bonus for those that are early. Anyways woethbjust to get a side by side comparison and I've always learned better by doing. For better or for worse, I want to be involved with ocean to get a better understanding of what's happening there.

I think we spoke on this last night.

It’s almost like a shitty token system

Yeah it's literally how forward derivitive contracts on commodities work.

Yes it makes things more predictable for the hasher.

But you pay for this by giving the pool operator control over ALL other mining functions. They simply borrow your hash andn"promise" to pay you a "fair" percentage of the reward based off thebrules THEY set.

How is this, in any way, adhering to the principles of sovereignty and decentralization that bitcoin teaches us?!?!

It's not called Guarantee of Reward. It's Proof of Work. C'mon people...

Why can't people just be happy with a small level of short term uncertainty? Put in the proof of work, get paid for that proof of work if/when it achieves something. Not before and not after.

There’s no other option imo, but it’s ‘what the market wants’. They certainly didn’t ask me for my input! 😂
