This might be a stupid question #asknostr but how do I find other people’s posts…is it simply the search filed?

This depends on your client. Some of them have different feeds and algorithms. But ultimately you can choose to be your own algorithm.
Can you expand on “be your own algorithm”? Essentially by using the search field??
More so by putting in the work to curate your own feed with the people and content you want to see. Most clients are not doing this for you.
Another option is to save notes as a private or public bookmark, similar to X. Some clients allow for this.
Searching by a hash tag or key word does sometimes produce the desired result but it isn't often as exact as X.
So right now in Damus app I see “nothing to see here’s. Check back later” under Notes and Notes and Replies. (See image)
Is that because I have yet to follow anyone and once I do, that is the feed for their notes? (Which is probably what I’m thinking of)
Otherwise I just have to curate via search at this time? (Is that what y’all mean?) 
I have not personally used Damus, so not sure.
Can someone help Jason with this question?

Ouf, well search is kinda harder to get. Its not really good here because its a web rather than a list, if that makes sense.
I recommend following hashtags, and lots of people. What are your interests?

Generally speaking I’m into business, leadership, investing and trading, Web3 (ie blockchain, crypto, decentralization)
For example I’m active in numerous Web3 communities, in midst of launching a paid newsletter for leaders and aspiring leaders via web3 platform, and actively swing trade and sell premium in Options.
Beyond that my family and I love to travel and enjoy the outdoors when the weather cools off
