Old habits are hard to break. 33 years in the Army and I still wear polished leather shoes... Fuck that suede bullshit they look like shit.

Also I love real shoes not that made in China crap that doesn't last 6 months. Real leather, resoleable, rugged and look great.

These are Thorogood Oxfords which I wear mostly in warmer weather, for cold weather I have some Danner hiking boots that are Gortex.

These are at least 3 or 4 years old

I was an anti-tank sergeant 2008-2009. I used to clean my boots before going bed. I was using a tooth brush remove sticky earth and other stuff than clean it with a velvet cloth and polish. My boots lasted 18 months with heavy usage. Oh and it is good for both economy and environment.

These have to be over 15 years old. Hand made in Spokane, WA. Not sure if Nick's still does it that way or not. They're not my daily drivers anymore and could use a resole but they'll last the rest of my life.

I see Nicks ads all the time. They build some nice looking stuff. I also have a pair of Russell Moccasins that I wear in summer.

Okay, dried them for 24 hours then hit a nice coat of Lincoln Stain Wax and then a top coat of Obanauf's Heavy Duty LP. Warmed them in the 65Β° sun for a few hours. They should continue to dry some of the leather preservative for another day or so. Then they will be ready...

Yes, I'm a goober, I put tape on the flag to keep it nice looking...

This stuff is the best for making sure leather doesn't dry out and crack
