Many people on earth never had a landline phone, they jumped the shark straight to the cellphone.
In similar fashion, some countries with failing currencies will collapse into the dollar, but as soon as Bitcoin is large enough, most will jump the shark straight into Bitcoin.
I hope you're right, I hope I'm wrong here. However, until governments can purchase the things they use and need, copper, asphalt, building materials, steel, concrete, using Bitcoin, they will not be putting large amounts of resource towards BTC. Without a circular economy, we will see another down cycle. Again, hope I'm wrong.
