Ugh. For 2.5 years I've been running an Umbrel node and it's worked fantastically. It does everything I want it to do, at least until now.

It's becoming overly apparent that I need to rebuild a node from scratch to be able to do the things I want to do.

I did this about a year ago. I built an LND node and then a CLN node.

I'll probably go with LND again because I am most familiar with it and it seems to have the largest amount of support out there.

Make sure not to use restoration of channels feature from Umbrell. It will result in force closed channels. Ask me how I know! 🐶🐾😂

Full copy of the folder works. I didn’t try but would guess that ThunderHub amboss backup should work too! 🐶🐾🫡

But you cannot start the old node after that, right? If you are migrating to a new machine.

Yeah, it's not restoration of channels, it's more of a way to get your funds back by force c losing them all 😉

Anyways, I'll have to close all of my channels anyways, if I move to a brand new node.

Or just have two separate nodes?
