Mmmm the venerable 4-in-hand file, otherwise known as a Farrier’s rasp. Yet another thing I’m keeping in my toolbelt that I don’t often see in other people’s, and comes in handy at the least expected moments.

What do you mainly use it for?
Really anything. There’s often times where you need to take a little bit of material from something but a saw blade won’t work well because the piece is too small to safely hold or something along those lines. Or you need just one corner knocked off something. Today I was making notches in the plastic brackets for these hand rails, so I was using the half round side.
