#onlyzaps adds friction to effortless interactions. this is actually a *good* thing. there's nothing wrong with clients avoiding effortless reactions alltogether.
so far non-quote reposts and reactions are on my "i will get to them eventually but it's not a priority, because it currently *feels* better when I'm using a client without them".
yes its opinionated... yes its less capability than other clients, but sometimes taking things away makes it better as a whole.
I feel more comfortable doing this now when there are more clients and they all have reactions. I am not denying this right from anyone. If they want it they can take notedeck and fork it.
Onlyzaps is better, it's cleaner

I’ve been on Only zaps for a long time.
I like it.
But honestly, I set my zaps to 3sats default, because I zap way more while on it.
I would like a zap button that also throws an emoji of whatever agreement i have with the post. Like a paywalled like button.

Original only zaps was that way and the pushback was real so you gave people their like button but just made it so I can’t see their reactions.

This is what the first version of onlyzaps was. There was a huge backlash and people were saying i’m taking away their freedom to react. I was like… whats the point of reacting if they can’t see your reaction. They said it was for other people and for themselves, so i restored it. People really don’t like when you take away a capability

it was very illuminating. there was basically a revolt. i realized some people do likes *for themselves* and they don't care if the person sees it or not. its like a dopamine thing ?
Wow... dopamine, or society breeds narcissism that badly that they think their opinion matters that much, even if people can't see it... wow, that makes me shake my head a bit.... and fist angerly in the air.
im gonna start using em to build lists. follow lists ded. background processing of my reactions into a kind 30k, awww yeah. 😎

why?
I’ve noticed when people quote repost, they will get zaps, often only adding emojis to the original content. If I’m reposting and have nothing to add, I would rather the zaps go to the person I’m reposting.
Otherwise, I would just steal their content (which I do)
I appreciate the clients that don't show reposts. a reaction gets the job done just as well
