Genuinely curious - many blue some countries skew 90% plus plant based. I’m curious why people who live so long generally end up eating more plants. Wdyt?

they don't

- Okinawans eat pigs nose-to-tail as well as lots of fish

- Sardinians eat ham and sausages from the wild Sarda pig, along with goat and sheep milk + cheeses

- Costa Ricans on the Nicoya peninsula have always eaten poultry, fish, eggs, turtles and wild game. A 2013 study found Nicoyans eat more animal proteins (fish & meat) than other Costa Ricans

- Seventh Day Adventists in California in the 60's and 70's were big advocates of raw dairy

The whole blue zone thing having to do with eating fewer animals is a myth or flawed propaganda or both. Plenty of sources online to dig into, but most people just watch netflix so

Yea they def all eat meat but I’d be interested to understand the actual proportions. It’s unclear to me. The official blue zone website itself says 95% plant based here: https://www.bluezones.com/recipes/food-guidelines/

But then again to your point supposedly the whole blue zone thing is entirely a fraud itself:

yes, it's a statistical grift combined with bad record keeping

The "blue zones" stop having as many centenarians after modern birth records start. turns out lots of people claim to have 100-year-old grandparents when there no documents exist to prove they don't

This took me down a very interesting rabbit hole. Thank you.
