Simplicity is key… I just want to be able to go to these large groups and go “look, download this app, save your private key somewhere safe, and then continue the conversation without censorship”

Yeah I mean Discord-style is just so alien to a lot of normies above Gen Z. These people love their Facebook groups

I experimented with that UI for a long time in Coracle (see groups.coracle.social), and my conclusion was that feed-based groups are actually a terrible UI metaphor, whatever you're familiar with. Which is why in flotilla I did forum-style threads + chat. But I get your point.

Thanks! Lots of work to be done, and I plan to do some usability testing too, so maybe all my assumptions are wrong.
