Reasonable. But there is a problem with centralized entities doing this on behalf of their users, and then those users casually finding out on social media or other networks, not having known.
This only shines a major light on why mining decentralization is so important. Is this was all stratum V2 and miners were running their own nodes, none of this would matter.
Agree on all points. nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze should have been forthcoming about this policy from the get go. Also I'm very disappointed that StratumV2 hasn't been widely implemented yet. I suspect pool operators maybe don't wish to abdicate this control.
We definitely need to see more pools come online. I guess perhaps I shouldn't just sit here and bitch about it while waiting for others to take action. Perhaps I should launch a pool myself? 🤷
