For me now, I only have "a little" bitcoin in a custodial wallet, a bit like a checking account. And the "savings" are on a non-custodial hardware wallet. But after the lightning network will grow, I will set up a non-custodial lightning walet as well 👌

I'll probably do the same but to bring a wider audience in I think there's going to have to some custodial wallet acceptance.

If your long term hodl stash is in a hardware wallet and you have a few dollars worth on a custodial wallet I think that's fine. Just know that it's not your keys and accept the risks that come with it.

In order for bitcoin to scale to the whole world (or the universe), Bitcoin will most likely only be used for final settlements. And layer 2, 3, 4, etc. solutions will be built on top of Bitcoin (custodial and non-custodial). And many will choose custodial since it is easy to use 👍
