Don’t get suckered in by the planet’s most proficient propagandist and the country’s most famous fear-monger.

Just because they point out valid problems doesn’t mean they’re on your team.

It’s easy to plug into peoples’ fear and insecurity with hypnotic language and half-truths.

That shit is dangerous.

I “listened” to some of it but didn’t really pay attention. I could only think two things

-it must be scary to be putin’s translator. If you fuck something up or he even thinks you do… ded

-the translator sounded like a skyrim character

I’ve tried listening before. Bitcoin Twitter was in ecstasy over the Carlson/Bukele interview

But Carlson is so tangibly dripping in manipulative toxicity, it completely undermined any “good points” that we all already know.

People worry about liberal “brainwashing” and sure there’s a fair share of that. But the insidiously divisive, relatable “Everyman” act is honestly terrifying. Because of how easy it is to get sucked in.

When did American conservatives start simping for Russia’s KGB agent-turned-president. Wtf? It’s almost like their propaganda worked.

Couldn’t have said better.

Thats high signal right there 🤙

Yeah same with hopium dealers cut from same cloth

I'm pretty skeptical about this interview. I don't like Tucker Carlson because he's been a fear monger for so fucking long and Putin is Putin. I'm going to give it a shot, when I get off work But my skeptic goggles are tightly duct-taped on.

I can’t listen to Carlson without feeling at least a little nauseous. It sort of feels like “just tasting” poison to see what it tastes like - not enough to get seriously ill, but poison is poison, and I’m pretty sensitive to that kind of vibe.

He doesn’t bring anything to the table that we don’t all know already. And he chooses “talking points” that many people would agree with on paper and then twists them to push a very specific agenda. One that’s ripe with fear, divisiveness, cynicism, and sometimes bigotry.

I completely empathize with those who want a “popular tv persona” to speak up about the corruption and bullshit in our society. Would be nice!

But it’s so stupidly obvious that someone like Carlson is being paid to shill the “America is fucked” narrative without ever offering a real solution. The KGB actively and publicly developed strategies intended to discredit science, facts, culture, and consensus in American discourse. For YEARS. This is just another iteration of that strategy. What’s scary is that it still seems to be working. I need a cat or a puppy or a cigarette. Damn.

Yeah, I honestly don't think I'm going to be able to get through the entire interview, but I am going to try.

Fuckem both. Not watching. 🔥🔥🔥

Respectable. 🤝

Whose they propagandist and 'they' in your note?

Putin, Putin/Carlson

Ah OK, I agree with you then I think. I see them as on a similar team at the moment although not necessarily historically. I think they are a less worse version of the current regimes in power but they will still have their own alignments (which are perhaps yet to be revealed fully) to some pretty nasty stuff down the road but represent the lesser of two evils at this point in time. My 2 sats:)

Decades-old KGB strategies were implemented during the Cold War with the express goal of seeding division and mistrust in America. “Making the truth nearly impossible to find” was one of their primary methods.

Look at the internet today.

I agree, the current system is broken. It’s why I put my faith in bitcoin, as a way to restore transparency and trust, and to align self-interest with societal goals.

Oil-funded authoritarians and fear-mongering talking heads are not going to fix what’s broken.

They aren't trying to fix it and I know it, they are trying to, imo, break away from the previous ruling elite and do their own thing. When I say that I'm alluding to factions within ruling classes.

It wont involve BTC to any great degree I suspect (although Id like that) because they can't control it enough or even much at all as far as we know. In my previous note I was more commenting on what I see not necessarily where my own beliefs.

Sorry if its vague its hard to set up what Im attempting to say saying:)

Whether someone is on your team or not is always an important question. But is it the most important question? The tribal mentality almost always obscures an objective understanding of the world. It makes us focus on one set of facts and simply ignore some other set of facts.

Putin believes in some sort of manifest destiny where eastern Ukraine belongs to him. (I haven’t seen the Putin-Carlson interview yet but we already know this — e.g. from an interview with Oliver Stone a few years ago.) NATO wanted a war bc profits. One being true should not justify ignoring the other.

I’m not fluent in little-man-bitch speak so I fear I won’t be able to understand what either one of these jokers say during the interview. 😭

🤣🤣🤣 I just read this to my wife and she goes “I love him” 😂👏👏

…but fr they’re both littlemanbitches

He is propagandist but there are way more dangerous than Putin.

Probably.

But Putin is the one inspiring the newest conservative-America-circle-jerk

So you're pissed because wd get the story from two different angles?! Would you prefer to not hear anyone from any country speak about it?

No. I’m offering a word of caution when people get exhilarated by the meticulously crafted manipulations put forth by popular news, tv, and political figureheads.

A lot of people seem to forget about “don’t trust verify” when the position comes from a contrarian point of view. Skepticism of rich and powerful incumbents should be heightened in situations like this, not disregarded because “fuck the legacy system anyway”
