Intuitively, I think most people put the lid down with the mouth opening facing down. But doesn’t putting it down the way you put it on the cup be better for germ prevention?

It’s not intuitive because most lids we flip upside down when we take them off. Like a jar of peanut butter. Most people flip it over to keep the top from getting dirty. Not true for coffee cup lids.
