apparently when the funds move on their side they close immediately....if the funds are not on their side then you can't receive. sounds a bit weird approach by nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5
is there any good option to self host a lnaddress on my node

You have to keep the channel balanced or purchase a channel from the LSP. This doc might help: https://docs.zeusln.app/lsp/channel-differences/
thanks. I understand the balance part. the channel was closed right after I made payemnts out to someone (within minutes) - did not even get a chance to consider balancing which I would have done as I expected to receive as well. You may want to consider some grace period before closeing the channels in such cases.
I am opening another channel as I am writing this. 🤙
BTW, to support zeus I had opened a large channel (from another node) to provide inbound liquidity last year when you all were boot strapping - so I am a supporter...so please don't close my channels. LOL. Just kidding...you do what works for your project and I will work around it. ⚡
keep up the great work!
BTW, instead of closing channels just based on local funds...consider running a node management tool like LNDg where you set the parameters how much cost, amounts, etc. and run in autopilot mode. It will keep the channels balanced as per your requirements. If some channels are hard to balance --- there is a Channel Report that shows which channels are profitable and which are not (candidates for closure).
